"Your life was weird even before Darrow," Maeve says, as if she's telling him something new he's not already aware of. She gives him a little sideways smile as they begin to load their things in the back of the vehicle. Most of the time Maeve doesn't want to think about Aimee or Otis driving -- god, that would be terrifying -- and they're both old enough for it. She can't even imagine a thirteen-year-old behind the wheel of a car.
"So they didn't crash and kill you," she says once they're loaded up and sitting in the back seat of the vehicle. "Obviously. But please don't let any of your Darrow teenagers drive us anywhere. I think I'd rather risk my own driving."
She's not necessarily a bad driver, she's just never learned.
