Unlike most of the people she went to school with, Maeve isn't much of a drinker. She drinks sometimes, mostly because other people are doing it, and now seems as good a time as any. A drink might help calm her nerves a little, make her feel like she might fit in a little bit better.

It isn't Steve she's nervous about, but the whole party itself. It's so much bigger and fancier than she's used to. Not even Aimee's house looked like this.

"Yeah," she agrees. "We need drinks."
